Sabreena Cherrington, praised for her “marvelous vocal character” (Arts Knoxville 2022), is a soprano originally from Cedarburg, Wisconsin. She currently resides in Knoxville Tennessee. She received her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 2022.
At UTK she was a graduate teaching assistant in the Musicology and Voice Departments under the oversight of Dr. Rachel Golden, Dr. Jacqueline Avila, and Dr. Kimberly Roberts. She was a member of Knoxville Opera’s Opera Studio from 2020-2022 and performed in their return to the stage post-covid in Boito’s Mefistofele in the spring of 2022.
Recent credits include Rosalinde in Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus and Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with the University of Tennessee Opera Theatre department. She will make her professional debut singing Mrs. Gleaton in Susannah in spring of 2023 with Marble City Opera. She is a student of Dr. Kimberly Roberts.
